Anchor Lodge No. 182
2nd & 4th Monday, 7pm
Key West, FL
Located
in the Scottish Rite Temple at 533 Eaton St. in Old Town Key West and Chartered in
1909. Its first officers were; W.·.
Joseph Y. Porter, Worshipful Master; Mr. Julius Otto, Senior Warden, and
Mr. Chas. H. Ketcham, Junior Warden. Originally a Navy Lodge,
its membership has become much more diverse over the years. With
men from all walks of life, coming together for fellowship &
brotherly love. Anchor Lodge has very active membership,
holding many events throughout the year. One of our flagship
events is the fifth grade track and field competition. Started
in 1973, this is
event is open to all fifth graders throughout the Florida Keys, and is now in
its 35th year. We hold several blood drives, Diabetes road
blocks, charitable dinners, and many, other events during the year
(see the calendar for a complete listing). Our Brothers are
always willing to lend a helping hand in the community, as well as
to a worthy distressed Brother.
With a past Grand Master
of Florida in 1922, M.·.W.·. Charles H. Ketchum, & many past DDGM's,
and the largest membership in the Keys, we are very proud of the hard work our
Brothers have put
in over the years, and we plan on continuing that tradition into the
future. Our average attendance at Regular Communications has
increased in the past year, and we are regularly balloting on new petitions and putting
on Degrees. We aim to raise 20 new Brothers every year, and
increase our membership to what is was in our heyday. We also have
the largest number of perpetual members in the district. We
welcome & encourage all visiting Brothers to attend all our Communications
& events.

The
Mark Twain Masonic Awareness Awards are presented annually to the
lodges that demonstrate exceptional commitment to Freemasonry's
philosophy of self-improvement and enlightenment.
Awards
are made to the participating lodges that, in the evaluation of
the MIC Task Force, have successfully addressed the challenges of
improving Masonic Awareness within both the lodge and the
community and that the brothers have done so with exemplary skill,
creativity, and resourcefulness.
